Choosing A Great Car

When was the last time you had to buy a new car? As the owner of a business, I have to invest in new cars pretty frequently in order to keep our sales force mobile. For a long time, I would invest in older cars that I thought were a better buy, but after awhile I realized that putting a little money into high-end vehicles actually paid off pretty well. It seemed like the cars would last longer and we didn't have to worry as much about repairs, which was a huge relief. My blog is filled with great tips for choosing a great car.

Time For Vacation? How To Make Sure Your RV Is Road-Ready

One of the great things about summer is that you can take some great road trips, especially if you own an RV. When you have an RV, you never need to worry about hotels. You can camp wherever you want to. Not only that, but you don't really need to "rough it" when you own an RV. You can enjoy the great outdoors while still enjoying modern amenities such as running water, flushing toilets, and protection from the mosquitoes. However, you do need to make sure that your RV is safe, secure, and road-ready before you take off on your adventures. Here are three steps you'll need to take to avoid problems while you're on the road.

Take Care with Your Electric Brake System

If you own an RV, you need to take care with your electric brake system. It's your electric brake system that will ensure proper stopping power between your vehicle and your trailer. Before you leave on vacation, here are three things you'll need to do for your electric brakes. First, you'll need to make sure that your brakes are properly adjusted. Second, you'll need to test your brakes, and the battery system, to make sure they're ready to go. Finally, you'll need to inspect your electric brakes for signs of rust or corrosion. If you notice any problems with your brakes, you should have them serviced before you leave on vacation.

Insist on a Safety Inspection Before You Head Out

Now that you're preparing for your vacation, you'll want to make sure that your RV is safe to travel. Take the time to schedule a safety inspection before you head out. Begin by having all of your fluids checked, including the oil, transmission fluid, and coolant. Next, ensure that your tires are properly inflated, and in good condition. Finally, check under your RV for signs of leaks.

Avoid Hazards with Your Propane Tank

When it comes to traveling with your RV, you'll need to avoid hazards involving your propane tanks. Propane can be quite explosive, if not handled properly. You should always avoid painting your propane tanks, especially dark colors. The dark paint can cause the tanks to heat up too much, which can lead to explosions. Also, you should never refill your propane tanks when the engine is running. A spark could ignite the tanks. Finally, be sure that you have a propane gas indicator installed in your RV. The indicator will alert you to propane leaks.
